Privatization of Public Infrastructure: a social model
Themes: Capacity Development | Economic Growth| Environmental Sustainability| Gender Equity| Governance| Private Sector Development | Social Development
Guinness Gallagher's team of commercial, legal, energy and indigenous peoples’ experts facilitated and undertook the commercial bid for the acquisition of a state-owned hydropower station by a consortium comprised of private sector energy companies and the indigenous landowners with potential rights and interests in both the land underlying the hydropower station and the water rights to the water feeding the station.
The bid management and due diligence for the acquisition of the surplus state-owned hydropower station involved our team bringing together the indigenous landowners and private sector energy operators and retail distributors, managing the relationship, undertaking both external and internal communication and stakeholder management, including local and central government and overseeing the final bidding documents.
